Vacant seat on Stanton council
The Stanton City Council has a vacant seat to fill after a council member moved out of Stanton. According to Stanton City auditor Richard Honeyman, council member Billie Jo Brown moved outside Stanton city limits, rendering her ineligible to complete her term on the City Council. At the council’s regular meeting Monday evening at Stanton City Hall, the council acknowledged the vacancy and announced that after a required 15-day waiting period, they would appoint a Stanton resident to fill the seat for the remainder of the unexpired four-year term, which ends in June 2012.
