Vanguard assessment brings out lake property owners

Several of Mercer County’s communities, including both Beulah and Hazen, have had the properties within their city limits reviewed by Vanguard Appraisals. This year, it was lake residents’ turn.
Vanguard is a full service company providing a variety of services related to property value appraisals. Based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the company operates throughout much of the Midwest, and has been in the Mercer County area for about a decade.
Bob Ehler, president of Vanguard, attended a Mercer County Commission meeting June 5 to discuss the outcome of the company’s findings for lakeside property owners during a board of equalization meeting for the county. Several of the affected residents also came out to hear Ehler’s presentation and express their own concerns.
