Will they find a compromise?
Agreeing on a policy limiting personal use of county equipment seemed out of reach for the Mercer County Policy Committee members, some wondering how long it would take to find a compromise.
“We spent hours drafting up with the first policy,” county auditor Shana Brost said. “I’m with (State’s Attorney) Jessica (Binder) on this. We shouldn’t have a no use policy because we know they aren’t going to follow it. There are going to be people using the county pen. There are going to be people plugging their cars in and using county electricity.”
