WRB mulls Lake Shore Estates

If the Mercer County Water Resource Board can prove water flowed east of Lake Shore Estates it may be able to divert way from the area. But it will have to do more than that to save the residents from flooding, officials said.
“I’ve been pulling my hair out since the last meeting trying to solve this,” engineer Steve Hoetzer said. “In 40 years it is the messiest mess I’ve ever seen.”
The board heard concerns from residents after Lake Shore Estates flooded in July. A thunderstorm dropped approximately six inches of rain in one hour, flooding six homes and garages. Thirteen residents received some type of property damage. This is the third time since 2009 the area flooded from melting snow and rainfall.
