A family tradition

Local hunter passes lifelong passion onto his children

For Washburn’s Brock Treybig, hunting is more than a hobby -- it’s something that has been taught to generations of his family. Treybig, who primarily hunts deer and pheasant, said he has been taking to the sport for decades, or as long as he can remember. “Years wise, since I was six so about 33 years,” Treybig said. Treybig said he grew up surrounded by hunters and that the love for the sport eventually spread to him. “Our family has always been avid hunters and I guess they passed that passion down to me,” Treybig said. Partial to bow hunting,
Treybig said a typical venture into the outdoors takes place after he’s done working for the day, or on the weekends. His hunting trips don’t always end with a kill, Treybig said, even when there’s opportunity for one.
