An asset to serve the community

A facelift to a local building was done to bring longevity to a resource within in the county for people of all ages to enjoy.
The McLean County Memorial Hall underwent a project to receive updated flooring.
According to Washburn American Legion Post 12 commander Dean Bergsadt, the project was pursued to be able to give the community a recreational resource to last many more years to come.
Bergsadt explained the hall, which is owned by the city and used by numerous organizations such as the American Legion, put in the old flooring about 50 years ago. That flooring had come from the University of North Dakota in Grand-Forks and had been played on by NBA pro Phil Jackson. Jackson, who graduated from Williston High School, played on the floor when he attended UND prior to becoming a probasketball player, coach and executive.
