Area 4-H youth win at NDSF

The 2015 North Dakota State Fair (NDSF) is officially in the books. The nine-day event saw an overall attendance of 305,093 – compared to 314,446 in 2014 – and numerous ribbons were awarded to area 4-H participants.

Approximately 7,350 static exhibits were entered in categories such as clothing and textiles, foods, photography, crop production, animal science, leathercraft and horticulture. Haley Filipek, Wilton, received Champion in Arranging Flowers. Jaclyn Jans, Wilton, won Reserve Champion in the Wildlife category.

On July 22, youth exhibited 82 breeding sheep and 96 market lambs in the Fair’s 4-H Sheep Show. Ashly Miller, Wilton, won Reserve Champion in Lot 3 Market Ewe. Morgyn Miller, Wilton, was awarded Champion in Lot 2 Market Wether.
