The newly-formed Sheriff’s Department Auxiliary hosted an open house at the McLean County Law Enforcement Center this weekend to celebrate local law enforcement.

Family members and officers were welcomed to the center on Saturday by the Sheriff’s Department Auxiliary, made up of spouses of local law enforcement. Snacks and beverages were served, with one signature treat towering on the table.

"Of course we had to have donuts," Said Auxiliary member Katie Olson, who made 36 dozen donuts for the occasion.

Tables were decorated with old photos of Sheriff’s Department employees and Peace Officer reference books were left out for those attending to peruse.

Corporal Curt Olson gave a speech to the officers and family members, saying he thought it was special to have a group going out of their way to thank the men and women in the department.
