Blizzard Bluegrass next weekend

Blizzard Bluegrass will return to Bismarck State College next weekend for the 14th annual event.
Washburn-area band Cotton Wood will be one of two acts performing during the two-day event, scheduled for Jan. 11 and 12. The band also host of the event, with bassist Jill Wiese serving as one of the organizers.
Wiese said she is excited for Cotton Wood to open for headliner Special Consensus, who is set to perform in the evening on both days.
“We are a band now for 18 years and are so excited to be opening for one of the best bands in the country,” Wiese said.
The Special Consensus, a grammy nominee and recipient of the Best Bluegrass album of the year and best instrumental song of the year from the International Bluegrass Music Association, will also lead a workshop on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
“To be able to sit down with (thee) best musicians/singers of bluegrass music in this country in Bismarck, N.D. is just priceless,” Wiese said.
