Cross Ranch State Park was packed this weekend with the Missouri River Bluegrass Festival.

"We had a great crowd over the weekend for sure," Event organizer Jill Weise said. "The entire campground was full and we filled 2 overflow areas plus part of another one too."

Weise said over 50 people attended Saturday’s "Learn a bluegrass song" workshop, which featured visiting bands, the High 48’s and the Gold Heart Band as instructors. The workshop’s teachers were two of five bands that performed at Friday and Saturday’s festival.

"The weather was perfect most all of the weekend and everyone really enjoyed the variety of the 5 bands that performed," Weise said. "The Center Community band and the Pfiger Sisters opened up the festival with their great band music and patriotic songs."
