Buegrass Goes Pink pushed back by Mother Nature

The 14th annual Bluegrass Goes Pink was expected to bring music, community and cancer awareness to Washburn on Saturday, July 25, but a combination of extreme weather events forced organizers to cancel the annual fundraiser after a severe storm caused significant damage to the Washburn Memorial Building just one day before the event.
Originally planned as an outdoor event, organizers had already made the decision a week earlier to relocate the concert to the Washburn Memorial Building after forecasts called for dangerous heat across central North Dakota, with temperatures expected to climb above 100 degrees in some locations.
Despite careful planning, Mother Nature had other ideas.
A powerful storm swept through Washburn on Friday, knocking out power across much of the community while also damaging the Memorial Building and soaking the sound equipment that had already been set up inside for Saturday’s concert
