Building opportunity

For McLean Family Resource Center staff members, it’s always been a matter of working with the space they have, and setting priorities for what they can do with it.
Each room serves a variety of purposes, and some work done from home, because not everything the employees need to do can be accomplished within the current location on Main Avenue in Washburn.
But come next summer, that will all change.
Construction was set to start this week on the new resource center, located on Seventh Street and Second Avenue. And along with the new building will come new opportunities.
“We’re going to have the clothing pantry back, and that’s huge,” MFRC Executive Director Jenell Olson said.
Jenell said before  the resource center moved into its current location, there had been a clothing pantry, but that there isn’t room for it in the three-room building the staff is currently working out of. She said it is something she gets asked about regularly, and is excited to bring it back, though with some improvements.
