Candidates file for June election

The June election looks to host a mixture of incumbents, first-timers and write-ins, as local candidates filed to be on the ballot this week.
County commissioners Doug Krebsbach and Steve Lee are both hoping to tack another term onto their stint on the county commission, both filing their candidacy for their current positions. Sheriff JR Kerzmann and State’s Attorney Ladd Erickson are also seeking re-election for their four-year terms.
Other offices in the county courthouse are expected to witness some shuffling come June, as current recorder Beth Knutson files to run for the county auditor spot being vacated by Les Korgel. Deputy auditor Heidi Anderson will be on the ballot running for Knutson’s position as county recorder.
School boards will likely see little change this year, as all four members ending their terms filed for re-election. Luke Retterath and Sandi Erber will both be on the ballot for Washburn, while Misty Schafer and Nicole Schurhamer have filed for the Wilton board.
Elsewhere on the ballot, things are less clear, with multiple positions in Washburn and Wilton lacking filed candidates.
