Cardinals stung by Hornets
The Hornets of Harvey-Well County rolled into Washburn Tuesday night ready to rumble with our hometown Cardinals in a big mid-week volleyball tilt. The Hornets would come out hot, as the Lady Cards were maybe a little lackadaisical from the distractions of Homecoming week, would jump out to a big early lead. But the hometown ladies would rally right back, using the wicked jump serve of Ashlyn Schmitz to climb back into the contest. However, Harvey-WC mettle would prove to be unshakeable, as when Schmitz would leave the court for a breather the Hornets would go on a big run and end up taking the first set 25-18.
