Coming this weekend: Riverboat Days

Washburn’s annual summer festival has a new name in 2015 and with it, a few new events.
Riverboat Days (no longer "Lewis and Clark Riverboat Days" following a nearly-unanimous vote by the Washburn Civic Club to eliminate the "Lewis and Clark") will feature a fishing derby and co-ed softball tournament, along with new activities for the kids.
The celebration is spread out over the next three days, with a full schedule on tap.
Friday, June 19
Farmers Security Bank will provide lunch al fresco at their location on Main Avenue between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Lewis and Clark Farmers Market will kick off its season with a 4 p.m. start; produce and goods will be available until 7 p.m. in the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center parking lot.
The Fireman’s Feed begins at 6 p.m. at the fire hall on Main Avenue. The meal is immediately followed by the annual Water Rodeo, where kids take turns donning gear and using fire hoses to aim water at suspended barrels. Together, both events should wrap up by 9 p.m.
