Cotton Wood celebrates the season with bluegrass

Cotton Wood, the bluegrass band from Washburn, is set to play two events in the next month.
The first event is called Christmas with Cotton Wood and the Prairie Meddlers on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the O.N.E. in downtown Mandan.
The event is presented by the God’s Child Project and a free will donation is asked as an entrance fee.
The four member band called Cotton Wood is made up of Lee Benjamin who plays banjo, dobro, guitar and vocals; Keith Koch who plays guitar and vocals; Dan Foster who plays mandolin, guitar and vocals: and Jill Wiese who plays bass, guitar and vocals.
Wiese’s daughter Ashley Stewart, came up with the idea for the event. The family is highly involved in the God’s Child Project organization, Stewart, daughter Kayla Wiese, and Jill have all traveled to Guatemala with the organization’s service team.
Stewart lives in Tennessee with her husband, Danny Stewart, who will also play bluegrass music during the Christmas with Cotton Wood concert. Stewart and the Wiese family have been involved with the God’s Child Project for about six years and sponsor two little boys through the organization.
