County roads to undergo repairs

After the long winter and late spring thaw, many roads in McLean County are in need of a little TLC.

Highway Superintendent Ron Wagner gave his department’s report at the McLean County commission meeting on May 20.

He said, "Near Wilton, along County Road 24, there’s a half-mile stretch that needs repairing. It’s located on the county line, leading to the cemetery."

Bids for fixing the road were received, with Bismarck’s Dakota Concepts winning the board’s approval with their bid of $73,000.

Other contractors were Mariner Construction, Bismarck, with a bid of $87,000 and Mike and Martin’s Asphalt, Bismarck, bidding in at $139,000.

Wagner said the plan is to patch the road and then place a one-and-a-half-inch overlay; the work will begin immediately.
