Cowboys slip by Roughriders

The Killdeer Cowboys rode into town on a dreary Friday night in Washburn, as Mother Nature did her best to drown out the enthusiasm of the homecoming day faithful, to square off against the boys in black and Vegas gold. As the roughriders strode purposefully onto the field for the opening kickoff, looking to defend their home turf, and notch a huge Region 4 upset, the clouds would open and the deluge would begin in earnest.
Killdeer received the opening kick, and from the first play of the evening it was clear that the biggest competition that both squads would face was the elements themselves. After two unsuccessful run plays against a fired-up Roughrider defense, the Cowboys would take to the air, but to their dismay and to the delight of the crowd, Roughrider cornerback Josh Laning would set his sights on the pass, snagging it out the air and heading back down the right sideline before he was finally brought down in Cowboy territory.
