The Washburn Elementary Student Council donated over 300 items to the McLean Family Resource Center, after collecting supplies during six school days.

The elementary students were sent home with a letter about the food and household goods drive outlining all the necessary items needed for the resource center.

Jerad Voglewede, Washburn Elementary School Principal, said, "We discussed different things we could do to help people in need before Thanksgiving and Christmas. We decided that we wanted to do whatever we could to help out local families in need during this holiday season."

"Coins for Kids and the food drive were both intended to help out the resource center. We couldn’t think of anything more important than to help local children and families in need. That is exactly what the resource center does," said Voglewede.
