Good showing for Lewis & Clark Riverboat Days

By Michael Johnson, Editor
Good crowds were reported for nearly all events sponsored by the Washburn Civic Club in the annual Lewis & Clark Riverboat Days celebration. A record 46 runners ran in the annual Coulee Trail Classic. Kids got enough candy to get them to October during the parade. About 75 parade entries filled Main Avenue and put on a great show of the local businesses and clubs. Shortly after the parade, the Baptist Women’s Bake Sale was completely sold out. Kids enjoyed the inflatable games while the car show brought out about 61 cars from the region. The vendor show also brought out good crowds with about 36 vendors selling their wares. "I think overall the vendor show was very successful," said Jenell Olson, Tupperware salesperson.
