Spring cleaning gets a citywide boost as Washburn launches its annual Clean-Up Week. Residents can clear out unwanted household items through curbside pickup and designated drop-off locations.
With clear guidelines, officials aim to streamline disposal while keeping the community tidy and environmentally responsible.
Curbside pickup is scheduled for May 17, and items need to be set out by 7 a.m. The city reminds residents that only certain materials will be accepted curbside, including mattresses, old furniture, wood, plastics and carpet cut into manageable pieces. Large amounts of construction materials will not be collected and residents will be responsible for disposing of them independently.
