Come the end of the month, K&D Services of Washburn will be under new ownership.
Keith Due, manager of K&D for the last 23 years, is currently preparing to hand over the HVAC business, which is being purchased by Minot native Dana Brandt.
Brandt, who graduated from Minot High School, will take the reins on Nov. 30, when the deal on the business officially closes. Running his own business was not on Brandt’s list of goals, but he said buying K&D seems to be a good fit.
“I always told myself I’d never own my own or start my own, but what’s different is everyone I’ve talked to says Keith has been wonderful, the customer base is huge,” Brandt said.
Along with a large customer base, Brandt will be put in charge of three buildings in Washburn and a laundromat. He said K&D will keep its name, address and phone number, and that he will continue providing the same services, which Due said should keep him occupied.
“We never had to advertise because we always had enough to do,” Due said. “He will definitely be busy.”
