L&C Riverboat Days begins Friday

By Michael Johnson, Editor

Washburn’s biggest outing of the year, Lewis & Clark Riverboat Days starts Friday and continues through Sunday for three days of fun, hopefully in the sun. The event, organized by the Washburn Civic Club, welcomes in everyone for fun, food and entertainment. This year, Washburn Civic Club president Tony Thoreson promises another great festival for the community. “It’s going to be fantastic,” Thoreson said. While civic club generally runs the whole show, a generous group, the River Riders, has volunteered to run the street dance. Along with this, the motorcycle group will have their first annual River Riders Run to raise money for a local with breast cancer. This will include food and beverages in the rear of the Lewis & Clark Saloon. Look for bikes to start pouring into town at 1 p.m.
