Library committee to assess bylaws
Citing concerns over books that may include homosexual themes or messaging, the Washburn Library Board formed a committee to evaluate its bylaws in regard to membership with the American Library Association. Washburn City Commissioner Keith Hapip told attendees of the Feb. 28 Washburn Library Board Meeting that he had concerns over the city’s library being associated with the American Library Association. Hapip said that the library board bylaws reference the ALA, implying that the library endorses the association and its messaging.
