Library seat vacancy

The Washburn Public Library Board has a vacancy following the resignation of board member Morgan Hapip.
Hapip submitted a written letter stating she was “formally resigning” from her position and thanking the board for the opportunity to serve. During the Feb. 24 library board meeting, she told members she and her family recently purchased a home in Hazen and plan to relocate when their schedule allows. The move places her outside Washburn city limits, which is a requirement for board membership under the library’s bylaws.
The Washburn Public Library Board consists of five members appointed by the Washburn City Commission. All members must be residents of the city, and one member must also serve on the city commission or be a designated representative. Board members serve threeyear terms beginning July 1, and no member may serve more than two consecutive terms.
