Local events to raise holiday spirits
The holiday spirit will be alive and well in Washburn this weekend, as the community hosts a variety of festivities for all ages.
A celebration of lights parade and tree lighting will take place in town Saturday, with festivities beginning at 4 p.m. at the Washburn Memorial Building.
Attendees will be able to take part in a gingerman building contest, a free-will donation supper, knoephla soup contest, hot chocolate, imposter reindeer and Santa letters.
At 6 p.m., a lighted parade will take place down Main Avenue, with a tree lighting and caroling set for the Washburn Veterans Memorial site.
Following the caroling, a family Christmas movie will be streamed at the Memorial Building.
