Mountain bike path approved

Washburn will soon be home to an off-road bike path, as the city commission sends through a request granted earlier this month by the city park board.
Sumner Boschert returned to the Washburn City Commission last week asking for consent to create a dirt mountain bike track around town. Boschert said he recently obtained approval from the city park board and was working to obtain signage for the trail.
Boschert said the trail wouldn’t have any jumps or obstacles, and that the closest it gets to a steep drop-off is over 20 feet.
Boschert said he would personally maintain the path, and that in the off chance that he leaves, the trail will quickly return to its previous state.
