Olson named tournament director

A Washburn business owner has been tapped to take the lead on North Dakota’s AIM weekend Walleye Series.
Geremy Olson of Washburn said he was offered the AIM ND Tournament director spot earlier this month and that he’s both humbled and excited.
“It’s a pretty cool feeling to get picked by peers,” Olson said, adding. “It’s one of top national walleye tournaments in the nation.”
Olson said he has helped organize tournaments in both North Dakota and Minnesota in the past, but that this will be a bigger role, one he feels he is well suited for.
“With my fire background and production background, planning events is just part of what we do,” Olson, who owns 241Ink Productions, said. “And having a social media and media background makes me a good fit for good quality pictures and advertising.”
Olson said promoting the event more effectively is one of his goals for his new position. Other than that, he said he is just looking to get settled right now.
