Area schools are finalizing details for distance learning, with facilities set to start educating off-site students by April 1. Washburn Public School Superintendent Brad Rinas
posted a video update on the school’s Facebook page, informing parents that the school is working on a plan. “We have been directed to develop a distance learning program of some kind that we will use going forward,” Rinas said. Rinas said the programs are set to be in place by April 1, but Washburn is shooting for a March 30 start date. School days missed last
week and this week will be forgiven, Rinas said, adding that the school didn’t expect to have to make up any class time in June. Rinas said the staff was working to get a system up
and running, noting that it was a tall order the team was meeting.
