Polar bear plunge

By Michael Johnson, Editor

They didn’t do it for the fame, the money or to impress each other. The five locals that jumped in the icy depths of the Missouri River at noon on Tuesday had to feel the rush of cold water to remind them what they are capable of. Todd Isaak said that the leap was more about doing something fun before he could talk himself out of it. “It was one of those things on the bucket list,” he said The plunge, coordinated by local Chris Gordon, was a last minute idea he had on the way back from Bismarck. “I just thought I’d see if I could drum up any others,” he said. He was rather surprised to see four others line up with him to jump in.
