Friday’s Roughrider Homecoming game against Garrison lent a win to the football players, crowns to the candidates and smiles to spectators.

The Southern McLean Roughrider football team marched out onto their home turf and came out on top, beating Garrison-Max 41-8.

"It is always nice to get a win on Homecoming, especially when it is the Mega Bowl along with it. It was nice to see the boys come out focused and score right away on the first kickoff," Roughrider coach Josh Harvey said via email. "We need them to continue to play good in order for us to make a playoff run."

Harvey said the team has now set its sights on beating Killdeer at this Friday’s game.

"Right now our focus is on Killdeer. They are a good team and we need to be at our best to beat them," Harvey said.

Harvey said to win, the Roughriders would have to start strong and rack up points early in the game.
