"Offering support to every family who has struggled with, or lost loved ones to, cancer."

The 8th annual "Saddle Up Against Cancer" horseback ride will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, on the Dale and June Neumiller farm, 544 9th Ave. SW, north of Wilton.

Event chairperson Clarissa Goldsack said 54 "hearty" riders participated last year – in spite of the rainy weather – and more than $9,000 was raised to benefit the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.

"This year’s ride will be going by the shore of East Park Lake and is wagon-friendly, so anyone can bring their horse, and wagon or saddle, and join us for the ride," Goldsack said. "This is a family-friendly event and we will have riders of all ages."

Participants must provide their own horse to ride. Goldsack noted foals must be halter-broke and able to be led by their owner.
