School board begins planning concrete improvements

The Washburn School Board began discussing upcoming construction on the school grounds. The concrete drainage behind the school has had some recent problems, and the board has contacted Brad Krogstad, an engineer with Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson. The survey crew will be at the school in mid-September. A tentative facilities committee meeting will be scheduled when the crew visits the school, so that members can ask questions. After the initial survey, KLJ will put together possible solutions for the concrete area. KLJ will submit drawings of different options, which will vary in price. Superintendent Brad Rinas said, “They will come back to us and at that point we will decide if we are going to choose one of their options.”
