Washburn School Board members went over a short list of potential projects during its meeting this month, noting that the items would be ranked by priority during the upcoming board retreat.
Facilities committee member Kelly Schatz-Jennings discussed ideas for possible improvements at the board’s Oct. 10 meeting.
“We received a quote for a new portable scoreboard,” Schatz-Jennings said, explaining the need for either repairs to the current board, or a replacement.
“To fix the existing, the quote is just under $9,000,” Schatz-Jennings said. She said a new board would cost approximately $14,000, or 55-60 percent the price of fixing the current one.
Schatz-Jennings also went over some suggested improvements to the upper and lower elementary playgrounds.
“Upper elementary playground needs new basketball system with backboards, rims and nets,” Schatz-Jennings said.
