Schurhamer competes with ND Elite

Wilton-Wing’s Taryn Schurhamer traveled to Tuscon, Arizona last month to compete with the North Dakota Elite Fastpitch softball team.
Schurhamer, a Wilton High School student, was one of six North Dakota girls on an 18U Fastpitch team that traveled to the Tucson Invitational Games Tournament on Oct. 31. Along with the North Dakota girls were two players from Minnesota and two from Canada.
The ND Elite team would take a 12-18 loss against the Firecrackers on Nov. 2, collecting 10 hits against the Firecrackers’ 14.
The team took on Team Velocity next, earning a 13-5 win. Schurhamer would pitch three innings of the game, in which ND elite would rack up 13 hits.
ND Elite would lose the third game of the tournament to Phoenix heat, which took a 9-4 victory.
