See where your water comes from
Everybody is invited to join in celebrating the opening of Washburn’s renovated and improved water treatment plant. An open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the water treatment plant, located at 104 First Street in Washburn. The public event will also feature tours of the plant, and a ribbon cutting. A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Washburn Memorial Building. The plant’s improvements were designed by AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.) to exceed projected demands and meet current treatment standards. Engineers optimized the plant’s intake, modified the existing processes to accommodate an immersed membrane system, and made various other related system improvements.
