Spring work begins in county

The deadline is Tuesday, April 18, at 10 a.m., for bids to be presented to commissioners for three graveling projects in McLean County.
Mike Rivinius, Wold Engineering, said locations are the Indian Hills area, Sportsmen’s Centennial Park and a section of County 12.
County commissioners also heard microsurfacing and patching County 15 in the Garrison area is up for bids. Those will be opened at 10:15 a.m., April 18. The project goes through the City of Garrison. The city’s cost would be approximately $10,400.
Rivinius and Doug Stoltz with Falkirk Mine also talked about a proposed overlay on an access road at the mine. Stoltz said plans would be presented for the three-mile stretch at the April 4 meeting.
Jim Grey, county highway superintendent, said if weather holds, crack sealing could begin in the near future on county roads. Grey also reported some flooding occurred in southern McLean County.
