Stepping up
When Sharla Kosloski and her family moved to Washburn in December 2023, she didn’t expect to be stepping into public office just two years later. After settling into the community and learning of two recent vacancies on the City Commission, Kosloski said she saw an opportunity to contribute.
Kosloski, 39, brings a varied professional background to the position, including eight years in banking and fi nance and seven years in home remodeling and construction.
This month, she marks her fi rst anniversary as a member service representative at Dakota West Credit Union’s Washburn branch.
She and her husband, Deron, are raising two sons, Nathaniel, 9, and Caleb, 2, and have spent the past two years getting to know the town and its residents.
“The Washburn community and the surrounding areas are very caring and supportive,” Kosloski said.
“People have been very accepting of me and my family.”
