Sunny and successful Riverboat Days

Sunshine, hot dogs galore, good music and activities for both young and old contributed to the success of this year’s Lewis & Clark Riverboat Days.

All of the "feeds" were well attended, including those sponsored by the Lions Club, Farmer’s Security Bank and the Washburn Fire Department.

At times, it was difficult to find an empty bench or picnic table to sit on to eat.

The kids in the community had a great deal of fun, with many activities taking place at any given time this weekend.

During Friday evening’s water rodeo, future firemen and firewomen had a chance to gear up in the Washburn Fire Department’s fire suits. The kids took turns at the hose, spraying water at a barrel, in a game of tug-of-war.

Boys and girls had to practice patience, as they couldn’t wait for their turn at the hose.
