Law officers are much more than a badge. That’s the message members of the McLean County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary want to bring to the residents of McLean County and North Dakota.
A pair of national speakers will be in Garrison Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m., as part of an event called Humanizing the Badge.
The speakers, David Edwards, a police chaplain, will give a presentation on law enforcement related stress.
Elizabeth Shiftwell, author and founder of Humanizing the Badge, will give a presentation on the purpose and mission of the organization and how communities can enhance the way it supports law enforcement.
Humanizing the Badge provides support to law enforcement officers, their families and the communities they serve. The organization gained national recognition for its #weseeyou campaign.
