The check’s in the bank

The long awaited payment for the Heritage Heights Lots arrived on Friday and the Washburn City Commission is quite certain that this time, things are going to move forward positively. They discussed the agreement at their last regular meeting on Monday night. So far, the city received the $33,000 down payment. City auditor Milissa Price said the remaining balance of $132,000 must be paid for  within a year of the contract date. The financing group behind the project is called Horizon Management LLC. The contractor is Pyramid Construction. The contractor is expected to be here next week to start planning. The buying group saw the properties listed on Craig’s List then called the city office to get the finer details, which resulted in the purchase agreement. Price said the sale is an exciting thing for Washburn that will result in great growth for the community. Before construction can begin on a lot, that lot must be paid for and the lots must be built on within two years.
