Butte
Lawrence E. Meidl Legion Post #270
The Veterans Day event is Tuesday, November 11, and will be in honor of Veteran’s Day at the Butte Legion. The Auxiliary will be hosting a “potato bar” and MRE’s will be available for the evening meal. It is potluck, so feel free to bring a dish to pass. The meal starts at 6 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. The program includes our Veteran Service Awards, Veteran introductions, a Veteran’s Day presentation about military field rations, and music.
Garrison
Hugh P. Minehan American Legion Post #49
Post #49 will hold its event at Garrison High School on Monday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. Commander Glen Nygard will be doing a presentation of the meaning behind the items on the POW table. Veterans will also be recognized.
Turtle Lake
A veteran’s breakfast at the Turtle Lake-Mercer School will be held Nov. 10 with breakfast starting to be served at 7:45 p.m.
Washburn
The Washburn American Legion Victor B. Wallin Post 12 and Auxiliary will be celebrating Veterans Day with a potluck supper Nov. 11 at the Memorial Building. There will be a 5 p.m. social, 6 p.m. potluck supper with meetings to follow at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.
White Shield
Young Hawk/Bear Legion Post #253
and the Legion Auxiliary
They will host a Veterans Day program/meal on Tuesday, Nov. 11, starting at 11 a.m. at the White Shield Old Scouts Veterans Memorial Building (545 Sahnish Ave). Guest speakers will include prior/current Tribal Chairmen - Austin Gillette, Ed Lone Fight, Tex Hall, Marcus Levings and Mark Fox. A dance/feed will be hosted by our Deadgrass Society at the Ralph Wells Memorial Complex on Tuesday as well. A meal will be served starting at 5:30 p.m., will the dance beginning at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Wilton
Wilton Public School will be hosting a Veterans Day service at 8:45 a.m. Nov. 6.
