Wanted: An extra set of eyes

When it comes to stemming the tide of crime in McLean County, authorities say an extra set of eyes is beneficial.

County Sheriff JR Kerzmann and county States Attorney Ladd Erickson met with Garrison Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee members. The two addressed drug enforcement and drug problems across the county.

They said the two biggest deterrents to curbing crime is education and reporting.

"An extra set of eyes is huge for us," said Kerzmann.

While the public might think something is minuscule or unimportant, Kerzmann said that info could become valuable down the road.

"That tidbit of information that comes in from the public often leads to us finishing off something or leads to something much bigger," he said.
