Washburn ambulance has successful event

By Erica Kingston, BHG News Service

The Washburn ambulance held their annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, but instead of it being held in the Memorial Building, as it has been in years past, the feed was moved into the new ambulance bay. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice were served to the many hungry mouths that came through the door from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the freewill donation fundraiser. “This was the first time we did the breakfast in our new building,” said Mary Devlin, secretary of the ambulance service board and rural ambulance board. “It was a new adventure for us and we were pleased with the turnout and the amount we raised.” Devlin said 250 people were served in the four hours the fundraiser went on.
