Washburn School reports stable finances, reduced deficit
Washburn Public School reported steady financial operations during the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to its annual financial report filed with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.
The report shows the district’s general fund recorded $5.87 million in revenue and $5.86 million in expenditures during the fiscal year. The fund’s balance improved from a deficit of $138,601.35 on July 1, 2025, to a deficit of $127,512.75 on June 30, 2026, reducing the shortfall by more than $11,000.
Several other district funds ended the year with positive balances. The capital projects fund increased from $11,427.86 to $43,629.91 after receiving $858,835.59 in revenue and recording $826,633.54 in expenditures.
The sinking and interest fund ended the year with a balance of $573,752.25, while the food service fund reported an ending balance of $5,654.99. Student activities accounts finished the fiscal year with $132,514.21 on hand.
