Washburn to hold public meeting on 2024 budget
The city of Washburn will be holding a public hearing regarding its proposed 2024 preliminary budget 6 p.m. Sept. 11.
If approved, the budget could levy up to $396,359.40. However, Washburn Commission President Larry Thomas reminded fellow commissioners during the Aug. 7 special meeting finalizing the preliminary budget, the commission can modify the budget once it is approved.

The levy is projected to bring up to $396,359.40 to the city of Washburn. Of that amount, $345,082.04 is projected to be used in the general fund, $20,638.68 is noted for each of the library and airport funds, while there is $10,000 earmarked for the special assessment deficiency fund.
