What would you change about Washburn?

By Michael Johnson, Editor

Whether you’ve lived in Washburn your whole life or you just moved here, there are likely some things you love about this place. There may also be some things that you’d love to see happen in Washburn. If you would like to hear some new ideas floating around Washburn as well as share some of your own ideas the community forum may be just right for you. The Washburn Area Economic Development Association is hosting a community forum led by economic and community developer Karen Hansen at 7 p.m., Feb. 9 in the Memorial Building and everyone is invited. Hansen hopes to get everyone out to hear what’s in the works for Washburn. While she has been on the job for about four months she realizes that many in town may not have met her yet and she would like to get to know you better. She will introduce some of the items discussed during the planning stages of the WAEDA director position. She will also be joined by several other speakers who are planning to talk about what is going on outside of Washburn. "The purpose of the meeting is to inform and create awareness of what’s happening here and in communities around the state," Hansen said. Those who come can share their ideas and dreams about things they would like to see happen in Washburn whether it be businesses or community spirit.
