Wilton adopts updated sales tax ordinance
The Wilton Board of City Commissioners approved the second reading and final passage of an updated sales and use tax ordinance during its Aug. 8 meeting.
The revisions incorporate the 1-cent sales tax increase approved by voters during the June 9 election and update city ordinances to reflect changes in North Dakota Century Code.
Commissioners unanimously approved the ordinance changes.
The board also approved the city's preliminary budget.
No details of the budget were discussed in the meeting minutes, but commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the proposal as presented.
In addition to approving the ordinance and budget, the commission authorized payment of bills that included utility expenses, water purchases and other routine city operations.
