Wilton approves school bus bids

The Wilton School Board held their second meeting of 2019 on Feb. 20. The agenda was full of new and old business ranging from technology, summer programs and new legislative acts that will affect the 2019-2020 school year.
Approval of the agenda was motioned and accepted.
A presentation of the bills was given, along with reports that were motioned and accepted.
An athletics and activities report reviewed the winter sports as they wind down into districts and regionals, along with updates on school clubs. A principal report from Courtney Seiler followed, detailing a recap of the months activities.
Superintendent Andrew Jordan gave a report as well. He informed members of upcoming legislative bills that may come into play that will later have to be dealt with (if passed) for the 2019-2020 school year. Some of these bills pertain to concealed carried guns on school grounds and school changing from a “days” system to an “hours” system.
A technology report showcased a slideshow of various technological tools being utilized throughout the different grade levels. The slideshow presented students demonstrating how different devices benefited their learning.
