Wilton Robotics made up a third of a State Championship Alliance that placed first overall at competition this weekend.
Wilton, Alexander and Aberdeen robotics teams came together to form an alliance at State competition at Bismarck State College this weekend, with the three-part team besting more than thirty other groups.
To take home the trophy, the alliance needed to earn as many points as possible during a 2-minute time frame split into an autonomous and manual segment. The autonomous portion is pre-programmed by a team member, while the manual portion of the competition requires drivers to navigate a custom course.
This year, the team’s robot needed to stack blocks, drag trays and park within designated areas. Each task earns the team a certain amount of points.
